WhatsApp

Setup

WhatsApp uses the WhatsApp Web protocol (via Baileys). Connection is done by scanning a QR code, similar to WhatsApp Web on your computer.

In your ThinkFleet dashboard, go to the Channels page.

Select WhatsApp

Click "Connect" next to WhatsApp. A QR code will appear.

Scan the QR Code

Open WhatsApp on your phone → Settings → Linked Devices → Link a Device → Scan the QR code.

Verify Connection

Once scanned, the channel status will show as "Connected." Your AI is now live on WhatsApp.

Group Chats

By default, your agent only responds in groups when mentioned. You can configure this per group:

  • Mention mode — Agent responds only when @mentioned
  • Always mode — Agent responds to every message (use with caution)

Limitations

  • Only one WhatsApp Web session per phone number
  • WhatsApp enforces rate limits on outbound messages
  • Media size limits: images 6 MB, audio/video 16 MB, documents 100 MB
